This article details how you get 🌶️ Chilipepper setup with the Official Notion API. We are as excited as you are! 🙂

Wait, what's the difference?

As we outline in ‣, there are some limitations to using Chilipepper's "unofficial" Notion connection.

With the new Notion API, there are a few benefits right away, with more coming soon:

 1. The Bot Token should no longer expire, so submissions will more reliably land in your Notion Tables.
 2. You have complete control over what apps can access which pages. This allows you to have fine controls on where our forms can read / write information to any part of your Notion workspace.

Gotchas

Before you get started, please see these important details:

🌶️ Since the Notion Bot has much more limited access than the unofficial approach, please make sure that you have shared the Notion Table you are looking to connect with your Notion Bot account.

☝ For Select & Multi-Select Fields, the Official API only supports options that already exist in Notion, so you will need to create any options in Notion before connecting your form to a respective Notion property.

🗝️ In order to setup Integrations in a Notion workspace, you will need Admin permissions in that workspace.

Connect Your Form using the Official Notion API

You can start using the Official Notion API by connecting your form through a Bot Account.
